About Us
Serving God and Preaching the Gospel in Killamarsh.

Who are we?
We are ordinary people from various walks of life who love the Lord Jesus Christ and want to share our faith in Him together and with others. We are independent of any central church organisation. There are mature Christians (elders) in the church whose responsibility it is to guide and help, however, every member is important and is encouraged to share in the life and work of the Gospel Hall. By the way, the Hebrew word (and name) Ebenezer means “Rock of Help”. We feel this is a very appropriate name for a church as we recognise the help of God (our rock) in every aspect of church life.
What do we believe?
God
We believe in one God, the Creator of everything according to Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”.
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ (described in this quotation from the Bible as the Word) is God, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1).
We also believe that, without in any way giving up His Deity He became a true Man – born of a virgin.
“Therefore the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14)
We believe He lived a perfect life with no possibility of any failure or sin.
“Who committed no sin, Nor was guile found in His mouth” (1 Peter 2:22) . . . “in Him there is no sin” (1 John 3:5).
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the revelation of God to humanity and is therefore the only authority for what we teach and practise.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16)
Salvation
We believe that He had to die, taking the judgment of God for sin so that God could maintain His holy and righteous character and yet still forgive our sins.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:23-24)
We believe that each individual must personally place faith in Christ as Saviour in order to receive God’s forgiveness and be made fit for heaven.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, . . .” (Acts 16:31)
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Spirit of God indwells all believers. . . . “having believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13).
